A Rainy Day
In July the heat in fierce. Hot breezes blow. A dark cloud or a shower of rain is always nice. If the rain does not fall people pray for it. They conduct Yoga exercise. It is tough to go out in blazing heat.
In June a wet day is a day of fun. When gloomy clouds blanket the sky, we begin to dance with joy. When air blows and rain falls every heart is filled with delight. People go out to the canal or the river to hold picnic. Some folks go out to appreciate sight of Nature. Young girls gather under some large tree to enjoy swing. They adore moving up and down on the swing. They sing beautiful songs. These tunes provide us enormous joy. Thus they make merry. Little children come out with lion outfits. They bathe in the rain water. Some of the butterflies roll in muddy rain water. They float paper boats on the rushing water. How they shout when their boas sink or are taken away by the current of water !

Everything in nature has fresh look after rain. The grass which seemed withering in summer’s heat a day before, lifts it head triumphantly. It moves to and fro when the wind blows. The cuckoo sings its lovely sounds from mango tree. It heralds the rain. How beautiful are its songs!
There are pools of water here and there. Houses and streets wash off their grime. Trees and plants are bathed in rain water. They look gay and green Animals and birds also appreciate the rain. The frogs create a very lovely noise after the rain. They begin to croak.
After rain highways, lanes and streets are coated with muck. It causes great difficulties. We cannot walk without damaging our clothes. Everybody feels uncomfortable at some period. Boys have to discontinue out- door games. People become bored and inactive. At some areas railway track is destroyed when it rains excessively. Mud huts begin to leak. Some are damaged under strong rains. Boys and girls get absolutely drenched. Sometimes they fall unwell. They are a prey to skin problems.
On the whole a rainy day in the summer is generally full of joy. It offers consolation to us. It is entirely nice if the sun does not appear. But if the clouds break up the sun begins to shine more brilliantly. Then our joy vanishes. The wind fails. Oh ! there is close again. The heat grows increasingly unbearable. How horrible we feel! The roads get muddy. Here and there the reckless passers- by tumble down. How people make fun of them! They spoil their clothes. But all the same rain is a must in a country like India.
